I can't fathom how to splice my track seamlessly
Hi, I am new to Garageband and during this lockdown wanted to record some tracks to relieve the boredom. I am using an iMac and have a drum track down. I am recording bass tracks for verses and chorus. I have played a verse and rather than play the whole song through and risk mistakes I decided to just do the verse then chorus separately. Trouble is, I just can't get the tracks to splice seamlessly. Every time I cut a section when I try to drag the next section over the space comes with it and I just can't get the next section to come in in time to the beat. can someone help please?

Hi Sunnaboy - If I understand correctly you're trying to cut out a section of a recording and drag the material that follows over to fill the gap..? Assuming you played along with the click, that should be pretty straightforward -- you'd cut out the section to be removed, making the cuts on the downbeats, select and delete those Regions, and then select & drag the following Regions over. It should be easy to position the cursor exactly on the downbeats for cutting [Command-T] and dragging [See the screenshots below]. I've also attached a video that shows GB editing, and a link to the course it's from..
